Clothing Program
The Clothing Room is a free thrift store located at 277 Chestnut Street, Oneonta, NY 13820. It is open to the public. All items in the store are donated and range from clothing for the whole family to toys and household items. Shoppers are able to find a wide variety of items as the inventory changes daily. While there aren't any income guidelines, we do ask that shoppers provide us with their demographic and household information to retain on file. The Clothing Room also accepts donations. Please read our donation policy prior to dropping off donations.
The hours for shopping are:
Mondays: 9am to 4pm
Tuesdays: 9am to 4 pm
Wednesdays: 9am to 4pm
Thursdays: 9am to 4pm
Fridays: BY APPT ONLY

The Oneonta Clothing Guild program was started by the Oneonta Retired Teachers Association to help families in the Oneonta School District with new clothing items for children enrolled in an Oneonta School. This program is broken into 2 parts: OCG 1 and OCG 2. OCG 1 provides socks, underwear and sneakers to children in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. OCG 2 provides snow pants and snow boots for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. These programs run from September to June, while school is in session. This program requires the child to be enrolled in the Oneonta School District, Kindergarten through 5th grade/12th grade. Applications can be found on the website and emailed, faxed or dropped off to The Family Service Association, located at 277 Chestnut Street, Oneonta, NY 13820.

The Back to School Program provides locals students, Kindergarten through 12th grade with school supplies. During our week-long event, held every August, families are able to choose up to 10 items per child of brand new school supplies. This program is open to families with children enrolled in kindergarten through 12th grade. While there aren't any income guidelines, we do ask that families provide us with their demographic and household information to retain on file. We also provide families with pre-made bags of school supplies for those who are unable to attend during the week due to emergency situations. School supplies are also available upon request for families moving into the area through the school year. All supplies are donated and range from backpacks to disinfectant wipes and everything in between. Supplies are limited based on donations.

The Clothing Program includes the Clothing Room, where "gently worn" clothing and household goods are recycled. Donations are received from area residents during agency hours. People may choose items for their family members at no charge.
FSA works with the Oneonta Clothing Guild as a liaison, to provide new sneakers, new snowpants, and new boots for children in the Oneonta School District.
The Back to School Program provides lower-income families with some school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks, and other items that children need to bring to school in the fall.
